Fraudulent SMS and voice calls in the name of Erste Bank or Sparkassen
Currently, customers receive fraudulent SMS messages or calls, allegedly in the name of George, Erste Bank or Sparkassen. In many cases the sender’s name or the phone number looks authentic, however these texts and calls are not being made by us!
As a pretext for contacting you, the fraudsters often claim that your device „registration“ is about to expire or that there is an interesting investment opportunity for you. With a link, the fraudsters try to direct you to a fake George-Login page which sole purpose is to obtain your user number and perform a George-login on your behalf! Afterwards, the fraudsters try to initiate outgoing transactions from your account and trick you into authorizing these transactions via s Identity.
Please always be careful where you input your personal banking details and verify on each authorization in s Identity what exactly is being authorized. s Identity is supporting you here with relevant information.
Good to know:
- Be skeptical when you receive links to login pages, especially via SMS or e-mail

Did you already disclose (confidential) information on such a phone call? Do you have questions? In these cases, please contact our 24h Service at: 05 0100 – 50200. We are always there for you.
