Instant Payment (SEPA) Limit

Last Article Update 25.11.2025

Instant Payments (SEPA) let you send money right away, without delay, every day. And with the Instant Payments Regulation (IPR) you have more control from 09 October 2025 onward. There is no longer a 100,000 € limit for Instant Payments (SEPA). Instead, you get to set your own for each account. That lets you stay flexible as well as secure.

Your Instant Payments (SEPA) limit is the highest amount you can send - per day or transfer - from a single current account.

This limit applies to all transfers where you activate Instant Payments (SEPA). That also includes:

  • Standing orders
  • Sweep orders
  • Own transfers

With this limit, you have an extra layer of protection. For example, against mistakes... like typing 3000 € instead of 300 €. Or misuse and fraud. That way, you can transfer with more confidence.

How to set your limit

The default setting is "Unlimited" for all accounts. However, you can change this any time you want.

Per day or per transfer?

Each limit type has its own advantages:

  • Per day helps if you want to keep control of overall spending.
  • Per transfer helps you avoid sending too much money at once - whether by accident or because of fraud.

You choose what works best for you. No limit is also an option, but means you won't have the same protection.
