After all the regulatory updates last month - including Verification of Payee for SEPA transfers - George Business is taking a short break from launching new features in November. Which makes this a good opportunity to give some guidance on two topics that led many to the George Business Helpdesk the past few weeks: Verification of Payee as a recipient, and issues with multibanking (EBICS) connections.

Verification of Payee for SEPA transfers have already become part of everyday business. But questions might still come up when partners or customers try to pay you:

Current advice on multibanking (EBICS) connections
EBICS (Electronic Banking Internet Communication Standard) has replaced the common MBS (Multibanking Standard) for multibanking connections. Once you set up a EBICS connection, you'll be able to view and sync your accounts with other banks via George Business - and of course make transactions.
The still-fresh EBICS standard is very complex, and being rolled out by banks in Austria, Germany, Switzerland and France.
We're aware that there have been issues and question marks around payments via EBICS connections. Many of these cases have little to do with George Business or Erste Bank und Sparkasse, and are caused by implementation issues by the "other" banks.
