- BankCard Mobil: Digitalise your debit card for free with just a few clicks in your George app and make contactless payments – using either an Apple and Android smartphone, or even the Apple Watch.*
- Preauthorise: You can now reserve hotels and rental cars by phone or online using your Debit Mastercard and pay cashless later on.
- MultiAccount feature: Your Debit Mastercard allows you to manage up to 4 current and savings accounts with only one card. You get to free up space in your wallet and will know what's where.
- Card airbag: In the event of fraudulent use of your card, any loss you incur will be fully reimbursed – without any deductible. To qualify for full reimbursement, you need to keep your card and code in a safe place.
- Geo-Control: This feature protects your card against unauthorised cash withdrawals outside of Europe. You can activate the worldwide cash withdrawal feature before setting out to travel outside of Europe.
- Self-service foyer: You can use the Debit Mastercard on the direct-access devices in the lobbies of Erste branches and savings banks across Austria.

Pay online using the Debit Mastercard

Use your new Debit Mastercard to pay in all online shops with the Mastercard mark – no registration needed.
Making secure online payments
To be able to pay online, payments need to be authorised first using s Identity or cardTAN – this works just like when logging on to George and confirming an authorisation in George. You will need a smartphone for s Identity or a cardTAN generator. Use the tried-and-tested 'Mastercard Identity Check' procedure to make secure online payments.

- the Debit Mastercard expiration date
- 3-digit security code (on the back of your card)
Regular payments can also be made
The Debit Mastercard can also be used to make recurring payments for online subscriptions – for newspapers, telecommunications services, music and feature films from Spotify and Netflix. Payments can be regular or irregular, fixed or variable.
No credit entries from online games
No credit entries from online games can be made to your Debit Mastercard or your current account and any such credit entries will be rejected.
(De)activating online payments in George
You will soon be able to deactivate and reactivate online payments with the Debit Mastercard in George and the George app.

The secure and easy way to make online payments
PIN code display in George
Retrieve your 4-digit code in George and the George app under Card Functions. Our videos will guide you through all the steps you need to take.
The new PIN is no longer sent by regular mail. Depending on the institution and type of card, a charge may be payable to retrieve the code, just like a charge used to be levied for ordering a new code.
Tip: Change the PIN for your s Kreditkarte to a code of your choice using the self-service devices.
Questions and answers
If your debit card is equipped with a "digital PIN", you must request the PIN code online in the George internet banking or the George app once before making your first internet payment. This is a security measure to protect your debit card from misuse.
Your card has a digital PIN if you did not receive a PIN envelope by post.
The term "debit" means that your new card is a debit card. The term often used in Austria for debit card is Bankomatkarte. Amounts you pay with your new card will be debited from your account immediately - so you always have a good overview of your expenses.
Please have the card blocked immediately in the George internet banking, in the George app or by telephone on 05 0100 - 50345. The card airbag protects you against misuse of your card. Any damage incurred is reimbursed in full - without a deductible. The card and code must be carefully stored.
