Calls from Fake Bank Employees

Fraudsters are once again trying to get hold of their victims' money by making phone calls in the name of Erste Bank or Sparkassen. In these calls, in which our telephone numbers can also be faked, they claim that "fraudulent transactions" have happened and that these could only be cancelled "with your help".

In reality, these are fraudulent attempts to trick you into authorising outgoing transfers. The claim that a fraudulent transfer has happened earlier is false and serves to persuade you to make quick and ill-considered authorisations. So don't be fooled by the phone number and these claims! We will never contact you via unprotected channels such as email, telephone, WhatsApp or SMS and ask you to authorise "cancellations", transfers or similar.
