It can make sense to split a credit card payment into several instalments if you have larger expenses, but cannot or don't want to pay the entire amount immediately. By using Split Now, you can spread the financial burden. That lets you handle a larger expense in the short term without using your entire budget.
With Split Now, you can split credit card payments over 50 Euros up to a total of 4,800 Euros into several monthly statements. You pay the first instalment with the current monthly statement; the following instalments are then due in the upcoming months.
Fees may apply for the use of Split Now. If so, George will display these charges directly to you when you activate the service.
And this is how it works step by step:
Open the George App and click on the desired credit card in the overview.
Go to "Functions" and click in the list on "Split Now".
Click on "New instalment plan".
If you have payments that qualify for Split Now, George will show them to you.
George will now guide you through the further steps to split your payment into several amounts.
Now you just have to sign the action, and the split is done. You now pay the first instalment with the current monthly statement, the other ones with the next ones.
Split Now lets you divide card payments after you've already made them. That's why you first get the total amount refunded (George shows this in Transactions) before the payment gets "split up".
The instalments (splits) then become due with your monthly statements. You can find more details in Authorisations (under "Upcoming instalments").
Select the credit card you want to split a payment for. In the side menu, you will find the Split Now function.
George shows you payments you can use with Split Now.
Once you select a payment, you can give this Split Now a name. That helps you recognise the purchase quickly. You will also see any possible fees.
After your signing, you will get a confirmation that the creation of Split Now was successful.
If you now click on Split Now in the menu for your credit card, you will see your instalments with all the details. George informs you here about your actual instalments, how many you still have available, when the next amount will be charged and also how much the total open amount is. This way you have everything at a glance.
