Google Pay is a convenient and secure solution for contactless payments: With just one tap, you can make purchases in shops, online shops and apps without taking your credit card out of your wallet. With Google Pay, you can link your Android smartphone or Android smartwatch to a debit or credit card to make contactless payments with your mobile phone or smartwatch.
If you want to use your credit card for cashless payments with Google Pay, the quickest way to do this is to click on your credit card in your George overview on your smartphone and select ‘Google Pay’ from the functions.
Select the credit card you want to activate for Google Pay by clicking on the desired card in the main menu. In the next step, go to the functions.
Scroll down in the selection until you see the menu item "Google Pay". You can start the activation process here.
George will now accompany you through the process and guide you through all the necessary steps. Let's go.
In the first step, George shows you all the cards that you can activate for Google Pay. You can use both credit and debit cards for this.
To activate Google Pay, you must agree to the terms and conditions. These include the transfer of your data to Google Ireland Limited. George will of course provide you with all the details.
Next, you confirm with your approval that you would like to have your card digitised so that you can use Google Pay to pay in shops.
After your signing, George will forward you directly to Google Pay so that you can finalise the activation of the card.
This requires your bank to confirm your identity. You will be sent an SMS to the telephone number you have registered with George to confirm your identity.
In the next step, you can add the card you have selected to Google Wallet to pay with Google Pay from now on. Your card details are encrypted for this, which ensures security.
Once you have completed all the steps, you can see your card in your Google Wallet. If you have several cards in your Wallet, you can also specify here which card should be the primary card for payment.
Now you can start and pay in shops with your mobile phone. To do this, unlock your mobile phone and hold it up to the contactless reader at the payment terminal. Wait a moment - done!
