How to check which Android version of George you’re using
- Access George.
- From your overview, navigate to the profile icon in the top right corner.
- Scroll to the bottom. The second line of the small print contains the number of the version you are using. In the example shown here, it's 24.14.35. On a side note, the version number refers to the year (24) and the calendar week (14) in which the George Team finished the development of this version.
To check if you are using the latest version of George, open the Google Play Store and search for the George app.
- If there is an update available, there will be an "Update" button next to the George app icon.
- Under "What's New", then "App info", you can find the number of the latest George version. If the number matches yours, then your George is up-to-date.
Automatic updates for the George Android app
To make updates as easy as possible, enable automatic updates. Here’s how.
- Open the Google Play Store and tap on your profile icon on the top right.
- Select “Settings”, then “Network Preferences”.
- Under “Auto-update apps”, you can choose to perform automatic updates using only Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi and mobile data.
That’s it, George will now keep himself up-to-date on his own.
Manual updates for the George Android app
Please perform a manual update if your George did not update himself after a new version was released.
- Open the Google Play Store and search for the George app.
- Tap "Update". If there is no "Update" button next to the George app icon, then George is already up-to-date.
George will now perform an update. However, he will not perform automatic updates in the future unless you have allowed automatic updates.
